Weigh-In Day

I guess it was just to good to be true. My loosing streak (one of the few things in life where you actually want to have one of those) has finally taken a turn for the worst. It wasn't too bad. I put on 1/2 a pound. I'm so grateful that it's only 1/2 a pound. It could have been worse I guess. The last time I put on it was the same, so Praise the Lord it has only been a little bit. I'm taking off more than putting on so that's always good. I wish it wasn't any at all, but that's the way the ball bounces.

We found out tonight that we are having regular weigh-ins during the holidays. The Monday before Christmas and the Monday after, so I reckon I'll have to keep my food festivities down to just Christmas Day! What a bummer! But, in saying that I would have to say that it's better for me that way. Well, not better for me but better for my body!!! LOL LOL

So, this puts me at 14.5lbs lost in total. I'll get there eventually, like the song says, "Little by little, inch by inch".

I pray you all have a blessed day!

Sis. Tammy

Is this month over yet?

I know, I know!! We are only in the first week of the month, but I'm already exhausted. As you know from the last post we were gone yesterday. And when I say gone, I mean we were gone.

We left a little after 8:30 a.m. and headed to Birmingham. We had absolutely no joy Christmas shopping, EVERYWHERE is sold out of EVERYTHING. What a mess! We decided that next year we are going to start and get the main things in August, even though my husband doesn't like to do that. He says it doesn't feel the same and your not in as much of a Christmas spirit then either, but at this rate you'll at least get what you need to and have more of an opportunity to get something you want than leftovers; then we'll only have to get the bits and bobs nearer Christmas. It is really frustrating because we don't spend a lot, but we at least would like to get them something that they would enjoy. A matter of prayer I think! And yes, I believe God cares about it also.

After having come up empty handed with the shopping we headed toward our friends for lunch. It was good to see them again and enjoy good christian fellowship. It's nice when you've not seen folks in a while, but you can just pick up where you left off and go on. We've been talking about trying to get them over sometime in January. Do you ever feel like your just TOO busy?

We left our friends house a little earlier than necessary because we had been warned that the Farm was hard to find and we wanted to find it before it got dark. The Farm is where the college students live while they are here. We found it without too much hassle, although we are glad we were looking while it was still daylight or we probably would still be looking for it and arriving just in time for all the clean-up duties! LOL The house (farm house) was real neat. They had it decorated all up, even the bathrooms. The had quite a spread ready and everything was great. The students had rooms upstairs prepared for the children with games and crafts and etc. They took turns taking care of them and even took them food and drinks and kept them occupied for the evening. What a blessing!!!! We sang Christmas Carols, played games, fellowshipped, ate and generally had a good time. Everyone was very gracious and accommodating. They were wonderful hosts and went out of their way to make everyone feel welcome. We ended up getting home a little before midnight. TIRED!!!!!!!!!!!

This morning we had our Carol Service at the care home and had to be there by 10:30. None of us were wanting to move very fast I can tell you that. But, we did have a great time. There were between 25-30 folks that came out. We even had a few of the carers stay in and sing with us. They really seemed to enjoy it. There is one lady in particular that works there and has made us feel in the past that we inconvenienced her by coming. Well, today she was very friendly and stayed to help find pages and sing along. That was a real blessing! We also gave out invitations to the workers and family members for our Carol Service and Candlelight Service at the church.

After the nursing home we had to grab a bite to eat and headed over for Caleb to grade in Karate. He passed and did a good job so is now officially a yellow belt. WOOOOHOOOO! Go Bubby!!!!! Then we came home, the children got their baths, ate and then went to bed. Yes, they went to bed quite early since they were up soooo late last night and Caleb has another cold. They are wore out. I know the feeling!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL

Now, it is vegging out time at the Tooley house. Roger and I are kicked back and ready to relax. The only problem is I feel like I could eat the entire house!!! Boy do I have the munchies!!! NOT GOOD FOLKS!! NOT GOOD!!!!!!! I think I'd better stay out of the kitchen! LOL

Enough for now. I'm even more tired after thinking, typing and editing what all we've done in the last 48 hours. Does anyone know of a cheap vacation spot? I think we might need one after this month is over with! LOL LOL LOL

Until the Shout,
Sis. Tammy

Gone Tomorrow

Tomorrow we are going to Birmingham. No, not Alabama; England! We (and the Pavitt's) were invited to a Christmas Party hosted by the college students that have come and stayed with us to help in the work here. We are leaving quite early as we have a full day.

We really need to leave our house by about 8 or 8:30. Yes, A.M.!!! It takes about 45 minutes to an hour to get to Birmingham from where we live. We need to return some PACE answer keys we borrowed from another missionary and they want us to have lunch with them. I think we're supposed to be at their house around 12 or 12:30. But first we have to go to a copy shop and finish printing off some Christmas music for Saturday's care home service. I know, why not wait until the last minute? Crazy, huh? After that we need to go to Costco and see if they have some bits that we need. THEN, we need to hit Toys 'R' Us. There is just a little bit of shopping that we have left to do and we are praying we can finish it tomorrow. Wouldn't that be a blessing!?!

All this before getting to our friends house. Now you know why we need to leave sooooo early. We have to be at the farm (where the college students live) around 5. We've been told that it is out in the boonies and hard to find, so we are going to try and find it before it gets dark. Being as how its been getting dark between 3 and 4:30 we'll probably find it and then go and see if there is a shop or something to look around in until it's time to be there. It is very frustrating to try and find some place in the dark as I'm sure most of you know.

I've made a dessert and a veggie tray with dip to take along. With it being cold outside there is no chance of any of it going bad. I sure pray this doesn't destroy all my hard work at W.W. I might actually eat some of the veggies! LOL That is why I took it, although I do want some of my dessert. One of the college guys named it "Chocolate Heavenly Goodness"! How funny it that!

Well, I'm hoping to hit the hay a bit early tonight since we have to be up and going at the crack of dawn. May you have a wonderful day and know joy in serving our blessed Saviour!

Until the Shout,
Sis. Tammy

Weigh-In Day

It's that time of the week again. Monday night weigh-in. With Thanksgiving and all I didn't expect to loose. I would have been happy to stay the same, but 'Thank the Lord' I lost 1.5lbs. Talk about a shock. That puts me at a total of 15lbs.

I still have a long way to go, but I'm aiming for short term goals like 1/2 a stone (7lbs.) at a time. I would love to get to my 10% by the last meeting before Christmas, but I don't know if I'll be able to. I still have about 12lbs. to go. Oh well, it's something to shoot for. Aim high, right?

If I could figure out a way to sort out photos, I'd try updating them as I loose. I'll have to ask hubby if he could give me a hand. Folks say they can tell, but I don't really see it yet. Although, I may have to figure out a way to take my skirts up in the waist soon. Either that or buy new ones!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I like that idea!!

It's been a busy day, so I'd better go for now. God bless and for those who are in the same boat as me, "Have a good week this week!"

Slightly Slimmer,
Sis. Tammy
