9/11 Survivors

As you might know, the head of a company survived 9/11 because his son started kindergarten that morning.
Another fellow was alive because it was his turn to bring donuts.
One woman was late because her alarm clock didn't go off.
One was late because of being stuck on the NJ Turnpike because of an auto accident.
One of them missed the bus.
One spilled food on her clothes and had to take time to change.
One's car wouldn't start.
One went back to answer the phone.
One had a child that dawdled and they didn't get ready as soon as they should have.
One couldn't get a taxi.
The one that struck me that most was the man who put on a new pair of shoes that morning, took the various means to get to work but before he got there, he developed a blister on his foot. He stopped at a drug store to buy a Band-Aid. That is why his is alive today.

Now, when I am stuck in traffic, miss an elevator, turn back to answer a ringing telephone - all the little things that annoy me; I think to myself, this is exactly where God wants me to be at this very moment. So, the next time you get frustrated by any number of delays or setbacks in the progress of your daily life take the time to stop and think about what the Lord may be protectin you from. His ways are perfect!

Proverbs 27 v.1 reminds us, "Boast no thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth."

Just some food for thought,

1/3 cup packed brown sugar
3/4 cup all-purpose flour

"That worthy Name" . . . Who is He?

As I was going about my business today I was thinking about the Lord and all the He is and I came across this (have edited it and added some of my own things to it also). It was such a blessing to me and I thought I'd share it with you, so . . . .

Just for a few moments think of some of the familiar titles and names of that Name which is above every other name. How these titles of our blessed Lord, what He is and what we have in Him, should fill our hearts with worship for the Lord, our lips with outbursts of praise and lift us above present day conditions and give us courage and boldness.

The Son of God
The Only Begotten of the Father,
The living God The eternal Life Emmanuel,
The God of Glory,
The Holy One;
Jehovah,
The everlasting God,
The Lord strong and mighty,
The Lord of Peace,
The Lord our righteousness,
The Upholder of all things,
The Creator,
The Alpha and Omega,
The express image of God.
He is the Word,
The Word of God,
The Word of Life,
The Wisdom of God,
The Angel of the Lord,
The Mediator of the better covenant.
The good Shepherd,
The great Shepherd,
The chief Shepherd,
The Door, the Way,
The Kinsman Redeemer
The Root and offspring of David,
The Branch of Righteousness,
The Rose of Sharon,
The Lily of the valley,
The true Vine,
The Corn of Wheat,
The Bread of God,
The true Bread from heaven.
He is also the Light of the world,
The Day dawn,
The Star out of Jacob,
Sun and Shield,
The Bright and Morning star,
The Sun of Righteousness.
Thus we read of that worthy Name, that He is…
The Great High priest,
The Daysman,
The Advocate,
Intercessor,
Surety,
Mercy Seat,
The Forerunner,
The Rock of Salvation,
The Refuge,
The Tower,
A strong Tower,
The Rock of Ages,
The Hope of Glory,
The Hope of His people,
A living Stone.

And What else?…
The Gift of God,
The Beloved,
The Fountain of Life,
Shiloh,
He is our Peace,
Our Redeemer,
He is precious,
The Amen,
The Just Lord,
The Bridegroom,
The Firstborn from the Dead,
Head over all,
Head of all principality and power,
Heir of all things.
He is Captain of the Lord's Host,
Captain of their salvation,
Chiefest among Ten Thousand,
The Leader,
The Counsellor,
The Lion of the tribe of Judah,
The Light of the world
The Governor,
Prince of Peace,
The Prince of Life,
The Prince of the Kings of the earth,
The Judge,
The King,
The King of Israel,
King of Saints,
King of Glory,
King over all the earth,
King in His Beauty,
King of Kings and Lord of lords.

And just in case your are wondering to whom I refer, His name is JESUS! He is all this and so, so much more.

Philippians 2:9-11 "Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."

God bless you all,
Sis. Tammy

Been Packing!

No, I haven't been packing for us. Our best friends have had to leave the field and while they were waiting for the house to sell the missionary family that took over their work agreed to live there for at least a year, furnished. The family has bought some of the things for sale, but they wanted to move closer to the church and have their own things so we agreed to help them pack our best friends stuff so it would be ready when they were able to get a container and move it back stateside.

I went over on Tuesday and stayed until Friday. I don't think I wish to move anytime soon!!! LOL I knew she was a pack rat, but oh my!!!! Anyway, we worked for 4 days to get it all done and we finished 99% of it. There is a bit to do in the loft, but we just couldn't do anymore.

And here I was thinking I would have more time for blogging once school let out for the summer, HA!! I don't see anything too strenuous in the near future so maybe I can get back to my blog. Sorry I haven't been in touch much recently.

Sis. Connie, the Lord must have known that I needed your prayers this week. It was hard to say goodbye to all my friends things and her home! God bless you.

Listening for the trumpet,
(could be our next move, Amen!)

Thankful for My Children

"Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: the fruit of the womb is his reward. " Psalms 127:3

I just want to praise the Lord for the two beautiful children that He has seen fit to bless our home with. They are so different, yet so special.

Yesterday, while the weather outside was rainy and yuck, my husband needed to get some John/Romans labelled and stuffed with tracts. Well, my son Caleb (5) was so excited. He sat at the dining room table for how many hours just stuffing those John/Romans with tracts. Rebekah usually has a great time helping also, but she had Brownies last night and was busy doing some badge work or she would have also been in on the FUN!

I wish you could have heard him. Oh, how it blessed my soul. There he was stuffing these John/Romans talking about people getting saved from them. He said to his daddy, "What if 100 people got saved and came to church?" Roger would say, "That would be a blessing!" After they got done, they did a whole box which has 500 in them; Caleb was ready to go and give them out. He was ever so disappointed that they were actually for today instead of yesterday.

This morning when I told the children to get ready to go they were so excited. They love giving out the John/Romans and handing out tracts in the town. Just watching them getting excited over the Lord's work is wonderful.

I truly believe that it is very important to make sure that our children are a part of the ministry that God has given us to do. That doesn't mean just preachers children, but that is anyones children. They like to be involved and feel a part of what is going on. Do we think that they will just suddenly one day want to do something helpful for the Lord? No, it starts at birth. There have been many a time that I have gone out passing out leaflets or John/Romans with my children still in their strollers. Once they get big enough to walk good, we start letting them have a turn putting them in the door. We don't tell them to do it, they ask to do it. We have a young man in the church who goes with Pastor now on Tuesday to give out the literature and when school is not in they each take a child and then they go at it it (gives me a chance of some alone time, usually that time is spent getting caught up on something around the house). Not only are they doing something for the Lord, but they are also able to burn of some excess energy. Praise the Lord! LOL

I thank the Lord that He has given me 2 children that are excited about doing something for Him even if they don't really understand it all. I don't know what the future may bring, but for now I'm just going to rejoice in their tender hearts and continue to encourage them for God's glory.

May you have a wonderful day!
God bless,
Sis. Tammy

Faith Tested

Have you ever noticed that when you've just received a blessing, the devil comes
along right behind it to try and snatch the joy of that blessing away? This is what my husband and I have faced since our return from holiday. The devil just seems to know when to hit below the belt.

We had such a wonderful time while in Germany. We saw how God is blessing there. Missionaries working on the field their may not see it, but Germany is sooooo much more open to the things of God than England. It almost felt like being in a land of revival compared to where we serve. I am thankful that God has seen fit to open their eyes to the need for Christ.

Since our return we have had to deal with quite a bit of disappointment. We returned to Britain late Thursday night and on Friday morning one of our ladies called to say that she (and her 2 little boys) would not be coming back (we don't know how permanant this is right now). She had been in the church in Leicester and had come over here when we moved. This is very heartbreaking for us as she has been with us for about 7 1/2 years.

This is on top of the fact that we had one lady blow out around April/May time. She was applying for citizenship and wanted my husband to sign some forms for her, but he had to have known her for at least 3 years and we have only known her for 2. In saying that, he couldn't honestly sign those forms and we believe that she has gotten mad over it (she needed a professional person and her doctor said she would have to pay about £30.00 [$60.00] for him to do) because she has only been back to church once since then. We popped a postcard in her letter box, but we've not heard hide nor hair from her.

Then, tonight we got an e-mail saying that another of our ladies was offered a job up north and is praying about what the Lord would have her do. We just celebrated our churches 3rd anniversary and she has been with us since the 2nd Sunday that the church was open.

Please pray for us. We believe what James 1:3 says, "Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience." We know that our faith is being tried (I can't exactly say that I like it). The work is small already and we know that if this is discouraging to us, then it will also be discouraging to our people. Pray that we would be like David and "encourage [ourselves] in the Lord."

May the Lord bless you all,
Sis. Tammy
