Our trip to Germany

We just got home last night. The Lord allowed us to take a holiday to Germany. We stayed with Bro. Jim & Sis. Becky White, who also serves with our mission. They were such a blessing to us and we had a wonderful time. Their hospitality was above and beyond anything we could have asked for.

The White's are doing a great job in Germany. They not only have German works, but also a Russian German work and a few Gypsy works. There are two different sets of Gypsies: Sinti and Romana. The Whites' work with them individually. It was almost like being on deputation or furlough. LOL Their hard work and dedication to the call of God on their lives is amazing. I know first hand how busy and tiring their work can be (I was there for 10 days), but they enjoy it and God is blessing. AMEN!

Their children, Sam and Carrie, the youngest of 9 are still at home. Sam is 19 and once a week he leads a Bible study group in their home for the young people they have contact with in Anbach where they live. Both these young people were a blessing to us. They took our 2 children under their wing and made their holiday great. Carrie was ready to come home with us. LOL They read to them, played with them, took them to the park, etc. etc. We appreciate them alot. They are sweet young people and work hard right along with their parents in the ministry that God has given them.

We got to do some site seeing while were their as well as visit a few of their mission works. The fellowship was a blessing. My husband got to testify at some of the churches and preached at the Russian German work in Worms on Sunday morning (via a translator) and then Sunday night he preached a great message on the Blood at a military work in Anbach. We praise the Lord for what He is doing in Germany. It is so good to see God moving and know that He is still working in lives all around the globe.

Well, now you know why I haven't been blogging the last week and a half. It is so cheap to fly from England to Europe. THANK THE LORD! It gives us opportunities that we never would have had if we were not called to Great Britain. Hearing what God is doing elsewhere is great, but being able to see it is amazing. Not to mention that fact that you get free lodging, that is also a big plus!!!!!!!!!!!! HA! HA!

God bless you all and have a wonderful day!

Bless the Lord, O my soul!

Psalms 103 vs. 1-5: "Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thin iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth the with lovingkindness and tender mercies."

In verse 1 of Psalms 103 it says, "Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name." With all that is in me I want to bless the Lord. I want for my soul to be lifted up with praise for my Lord. He is so worthy of it and yet we do it so little sometimes. His name alone should cause us to rejoice. His name should stir the very depths of our being with worship for who He is and all that He has done.

Verse 2 says, "Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits." Often times we are very negligent when it comes to remembering our benefits. The good Lord saved and that alone is more benefit than I will ever deserve. All the rest is extra and how I praise Him for the extras! Hallelujah!

Verse 3 says, "Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases." This verse reminds me of that song:
My Sins Are Gone
You ask me why I'm happy so I'll just tell you why,
Because my sins are gone
And when I meet the scoffers who ask me where they are, I say,
My sins are gone.
They're underneath the Blood, on the Cross of Calvary,
As far removed as darkness is from dawn;
In the sea of God's forgetfulness, that's good enough for me,
Praise God, my sins are gone.
'Twas at the old time altar where God came in my heart,
And now, mys sins are gone;
The Lord took full possession, the devil did depart,
I'm glad my sins are gone.
When Satan comes to tempt me and tries to make me doubt,
I say, my sins are gone;
You got me into trouble, but Jesus got me out,
I'm glad my sins are gone.
I'm living now for Jesus, I'm happy night and day,
Because mys sins are gone;
My soul is filled with music, with all my heart I say,
I know my sins are gone.
Words can not express how thankful and humbled I am to know that He CAN and WILL forgive all my iniquities. I'm grateful that He also has the power to heal all my diseases. I know as well as the next person that it is not always His will to heal, but I am so glad to know that if He wills it, He can do it. And look at it this way, for the Christian, one way or another we will be healed. Remember, in heaven there will be no sickness, pain, or death. We will be HEALED eternally!!!!
Amen!
Verse 4 says, "Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies." None other than the Lord Jesus Christ could see any good in this old filthy rotten sinner worth redeeming. I praise Him for being my kinsmen redeemer! Glory!! He has bestowed on me lovingkindness far above that I should receive and His mercies are so much more tender than anything I could have ever known.
Many times there are a lot of things going on and going wrong in our lives and we forget that even in them we are still to "Bless the Lord . . ." So I just wanted to take a few minutes to brag on my wonderful Lord.
God bless you all,
Sis. Tammy

Dissappointed

Looks like we are not going to be moving anytime real soon. The lady who was buying our house has pulled out. They call it guzumpting here, which basically means that until you sign a contract the buyer can change their minds and pull out without loosing their deposit. Not so in the U.S. If you decide not to buy the property there, you loose your deposit and fees. I think they should make it a law here. I know in Scotland you do, they need to make it a law in England also.

It is so frustrating. You really can not make any plans ahead of schedule in this country when it comes to buying and selling your home. I am so thankful that I had not packed things up yet, although my husband has packed up his study. Now he is debating on whether or not to unpack somethings that he may need in the next few months.

On May 21st we celebrated 12 years here. There have been so many changes in this country these last few months, especially with Gordon Brown becoming the Prime Minister and Allister Darling taking over as chancellor. A lot of new tax laws and etc. The government is making it increasingly more and more difficult for missionaries to stay here, but with the help of the Lord we intend to be here as long as possible. I'm glad God is in control, even when we don't always understand (For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55v. 8-9).

The Lord knows that I like my house, although Caleb's room is very small (about 8x9); and didn't really want to move. I had begun to get excited and Caleb was super excited because he would get a bigger room. It is in the Lords hands. We have faith that He is going to do what is best for us. We are trusting that God and waiting on Him. Pray that the Lord would give us grace and that we would be sensitive to His leading these next few months.

God bless you all and have a wonderful day.

"Drops of Grief"

"Surely he hath born our griefs, and carried our sorrow; yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted." Isaiah 53:4

John Vassar was a tremendous winner of souls and he experienced many incredible escapades in his visitation work. One day he was passing out tracts in a small village and talking to people as the opportunity arose. One lady of Irish descent remarked to herself she later revealed, "If he comes to my door I will not treat him kindly."

The next day her doorbell rang, she answered it and seeing who it is was she slammed the door in Vassar's face. To her amazement, he sat down on her porch steps and began to sing:
"But drops of grief can ne'er repay
The debt of love I owe;
Here, Lord, I give myself away,
'Tis all that I can do."

Afterwards she confessed that, "'Twas those 'drops of grief' that reached my heart and changed my life."

Sometimes in our witnessing we take the rejection of the presentation of the Gospel personally. We must remember that it is not us, or our demeanor (I hope), that sinners are refusing. It is Jesus. Perhaps if sinners could be left with a prayer, or an earnest plea, or even a song, the Holy Ghost will go to work in convicting power and result in changed lives and touched hearts. And the truth is: There is no real conversion without Holy Ghost conviction!
