Direction

"Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths" Proverbs 3:5-6

The great hope of the child of God is built on faith, faith in God to do what is best for His own. Often the path of faith and trust in God is strewn with stumbling stones and broken glass. Sometimes the trail is dark and danger riven. I think some have come to believe and teach that only those that are off the path do any suffering. That is nothing more than the psycho-babble of this modern day health and wealth type preaching. Remember, ". . .all they that live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution", and a whole lot more. Not only does God reign righteousness on the just and the unjust, but we also have to experience the consequences of living in a world that is ravaged with sin (disease, crime, etc., etc.). It makes us more like the Saviour. We will know Him in the ". . .fellowship of his suffering" (Phil. 3:10)

The secret of God's direction is letting Him and Him alone direct our path. Today some allow men movements, or mentors to direct the path they should take and the course they should seek. How foolish! They can't know the will of God for OUR lives. We are not to be approved by men, but seek God's approval (II Tim. 2v.15: "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth"). A few are like King Saul and allow the people (read-church members) to determine the way they should go. King Saul's whining excuse to Samuel, "But the people. . . . ," was and is a flimsy reason to disobey God. Ask King Saul how costly his adherence to the people's wishes was.

Let God be the director of the orchestra of your life!

Until the shout,
Sis. Tammy
