Update on my Dad

My Dad had his surgery yesterday. I told him I really appreciated the Birthday present (it was my birthday yesterday). He didn't think it was funny. I got to speak to him today. I asked him whether he was Doppy, Sleepy or Grumpy? He said was a bit of all three. LOL

They had to place a rod and screws in the top part of his ankle where the bone twisted. He has a 3/4 cast on right now with bandages up to his mid-thigh. They need to wait for about 8-10 days before they put the thigh high cast on to make sure that he is healing properly since he is diabetic (although it is controlled with his diet). They want to put the higher cast on so that his knee can't twist, hence the bone is completely stabilized.

He is hurting, but doesn't want to take much pain killer. Stubborn is what I call it, I don't know about you. Things are going to be very difficult for him mobility wise the next few months. And since his job is very physical he will have to be completely better before they will sign him off to be able to work again. That means he is only going to be getting workman's comp. Pray that the Lord would help them to be very wise stewards in the coming months.

Well, I really appreciate all those who have prayed for my Daddy. It really means alot. Thank You!

Blessings,
Sis. Tammy

Prayer Request

I just wanted to leave a prayer request with you all. When I got home from taking Caleb to karate my husband told me that I needed to call my mom. I got ahold of her and found out that my dad is in the hospital.

He had fallen at work on some ice and broken his leg, in 3 places. He may have to have surgery. It happened about 9 this morning (est) and he didn't get to the hospital until almost 11, my mom beat him there by about 45 minutes. He works in a lyme plant and had evidently left his radio in the truck (PTL he had his cell phone on him), but unforunately the plant phone was on the blink on and off. He had to call my mom and have her call his partner and get an amublance down there. Momma was still in the emercency room with him when I got ahold of her. They were waiting for a bed to become available (now it sounds like they're in England). I talked to him for a few minutes and the pain killers were working pretty good so he didn't feel too bad. Thank the Lord!

Please pray for him, he isn't going to like this. He hates needles for one and he isn't used to sitting still for long. Pray for me, too; when things happen it is hard not to be able to be there.

Many blessings,
Sis. Tammy
